Tomorrow, Nissan will reveal the new B-MPV based on the Renault Triber. This represents a stepping stone for Nissan during its efforts to extend its product offerings in India. Although Nissan will ultimately launch the vehicle sometime in FY2026, prior to that, Nissan will release some design sketches of the new B-MPV prior to going to market, similar to when they teased the Tekton.
The future B-MPV will share the same foundation/platform as the Triber and will likely share the same overall body shape/silhouette, but will differ in terms of aesthetics; Nissan will use its brand aesthetic to create a front facia, create/design different alloy wheel options, and develop the signature Nissan lighting for the vehicle. The dimensions of the new B-MPV are likely to remain the same as the dimensions of the Triber. The B-MPV’s cabin configuration will also remain identical to the Triber, having three rows of seating for passengers, all geared towards customers interested in purchasing a family vehicle.

Underneath, this can be expected that the new MPV will have a standard 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will be able to produce 71bhp and 96Nm of torque at the crankshaft. The transmission will probably include a standard five-speed manual and AMT (automated manual transmission) system with five-speed options. In addition, Nissan is also considering providing a dealer-level CNG retrofit that could help people save money at the pump and also operate at lower emission levels.
Nissan’s continued presence in India has been primarily based on their Magnite model since they stopped producing Datsun vehicles, particularly in the sub-Rs 10 lakh area, and now the B-MPV will also help get into the market with the help of Renault’s Triber, which was relaunched and had received updates to benefit both companies.
Nissan has included the launch of this B-MPV in its overall plan for India, which will see many model launches during the next two years, including Tekton, which is a larger-sized, three-row SUV to be placed above B-MPV; as well as another electric vehicle. These are significant additions to Nissan’s product range and signals a commitment by Nissan to enhance the strength of their overall model range and competitiveness within the Indian market.
