- No exhaust pipe
- Cosmetic and functional EV-centric bits
The Tata Sierra has been caught testing yet again, making it increasingly likely that we’re going to get an all-electric version of this iconic SUV. The ICE-powered Sierra has already garnered over 70,000 bookings, so it seems Tata Motors is working on creating an electric version to complete its electric vehicle lineup.
The latest spy photographs show the Sierra EV without an exhaust pipe, confirming its status as an all-electric vehicle. Its underfloor battery will lower the SUV’s centre of gravity, allowing it to have a more stable and planted feel while driving. The Sierra EV will maintain the same overall look as the traditional Sierra but will have some EV-specific features, such as a modified front grille, .ev badges, and aerodynamic alloy wheels, along with Tata’s Arcade.ev connected vehicle system. In addition, the Sierra EV will likely feature a digital internal rearview mirror (IRVM) similar to the Harrier EV.

Regarding the powertrain, the Sierra EV will likely use the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs from the Harrier EV, with both 2WD and QWD options. Price wise, expect the Sierra EV to start at over Rs. 18 lakh.
