Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer Vinfast is leaving no stones unturned in its India roadmap, with the brand officially confirming that the Vinfast Limo Green is set to be launched here before February 2026. This new electric MPV will reportedly take on the Kia Carens Clavis EV directly, signifying Vinfast is making a serious play for a significant share of one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.
Vinfast came to India in a cautious manner, and we are still expecting global EVs in the country in the form of the VF 6 and VF 7 alongside an investment to establish a mega assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Having established this foundation, the brand is looking to more mass-market and family-oriented models, and the Limo Green seems to be the next key step in expanding its footprint.
Targeting families in search of a large and fully electric family mover, the Limo Green definitely makes quite a case for a massive vehicle. The eMPV is slightly larger than its key competitor from Kia, measuring 4.7 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and 1.7 metres high, mounted on a 2.8-metre wheelbase. Limo Green specifications include a 150kW front wheel drive electric motor that produces 280Nm of torque, with a 60.13kWh battery pack, likely of NMC-based chemistry. Vinfast is also miles ahead in range with its shining new 450km claimed range (on a single charge) that brings up the rear when it comes to both inter-city use as well as mediating daily family travel needs.

It is also well supported with 80kW DC fast-charging support for charging convenience. This indicates limited downtime while improving usability, according to the company, with the battery able to charge from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes. They add to the Limo Green’s appeal as both a long-distance cruiser and a city dweller.
The electric MPV then looks to mix practicality and modernity within (again, look at the Stellantis parts bin). Important features consist of 2 traveling modes, 18-inch alloy wheels, ventilated all-disc brakes, a four-speaker audio system, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and single-zone climate control. While certain features feel basic compared to pricier rivals, the brand looks like it’s prioritizing performance/space value over sheer luxury.

The million-dollar question is, will VinFast become successful in India? The company’s strategy is already showing signs of realism and maturity in itself. Rather than dumping its products aggressively, or at least, killing their competitive industry potential, Vinfast has been careful to choose market segments and locate local manufacturing potential. MG’s recent patents in India, such as the compact model similar to the MG Comet EV and the Ola-rivaling Minio Green, indicate that the brand aims to compete in multiple segments of the EV space.
Another approach is targeting the MPV segment early, as it gives Vinfast a good window to carve its niche as a family EV brand. The Limo Green has the potential to be a key success pillar in Vinfast India’s story with all the right parts – competitive specs, future-ready line-up & a large domestic investment.
