Triple-Screen Dashboard Experience
One of the biggest talking points of the 2025 Sierra is its triple-screen layout. It includes a digital instrument display for the driver, a larger centre infotainment screen, and a separate display for the front passenger. This advanced setup is expected to come with Tata’s latest interface for smoother performance. Lower variants may retain a dual-screen system similar to the Harrier, but the Sierra clearly leads in cabin tech.
Superior Sound Setup With 12 Speakers
Tata has equipped the new Sierra with a 12-speaker JBL audio system, offering two extra speakers compared to the Harrier. Additionally, a dedicated soundbar positioned above the climate controls enhances sound clarity, delivering a more premium in-cabin entertainment experience.
Extendable Sun Visors for Added Convenience
The Sierra introduces extendable sun visors for the first time in a Tata SUV. These adjustable visors provide better protection from sunlight, making daily drives more comfortable compared to the regular visors used in the Harrier.
Extended Thigh Support Seats for Better Comfort
Comfort takes a noticeable step up with the inclusion of extendable thigh support, a first-in-brand feature. The fold-out seat extension offers enhanced leg comfort, especially useful during long journeys, an area where the Sierra outshines the Harrier.
Auxiliary Tail Lamps for Higher Visibility
For improved safety, the 2025 Sierra features auxiliary tail lamps that remain visible even when the tailgate is open. This practical feature is missing in the Harrier but adds an extra layer of visibility for the Sierra during loading or parking situations.
New 1.5-Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine Option
Alongside the existing diesel options, the Sierra is set to debut Tata’s latest 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 170 PS and 280 Nm. Gearbox choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. Meanwhile, the Harrier continues with its 2-litre diesel engine for now, with its petrol upgrade scheduled for December 9.
Expected Price & Market Rivals
The price of the upcoming Sierra is expected to start around ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with popular compact SUVs, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and Volkswagen Taigun. The Harrier, on the other hand, remains positioned against larger models like the Jeep Compass, MG Hector, and Mahindra XUV700 (5-seater).
A Legendary Name Revived
With high-end technology, upgraded comfort features, and a fresh petrol engine option, the 2025 Tata Sierra is poised to make a strong comeback in the Indian SUV market. As the launch date approaches, anticipation continues to rise for this updated icon stepping back into the spotlight.
