Renault Duster was a smoking hot name in the compact in SUV segment, and will surely look to make a strong comeback in India. A heavily camouflaged test mule was recently spotted on public roads, indicating that the new-gen Duster has reached its final stage of testing. The brand self-hyped up today, announcing an official unveil on 26 January next year in a modified simile to the SUV tug-of-war from 2023, kentering back to a fierce large SUV landscape.
All-New Rugged Styling Inspired by Euro-Spec Duster
Although the test model is still covered in camouflage, its full design is thought to be influenced by the new Dacia Duster offered in Europe and the India-specific Nissan Tekton. The SUV will feature a strong and aggressive design, accentuated by:
- Signature Y-shaped LED DRLs
- Chunky black wheel-arch cladding
- Boomerang-shaped tail lamps
- Brawny sill cladding and black sill garnish
This updated, toughened exterior ensures the Duster continues to embody its off-road-ready personality.

Functional Yet Modern Interior Layout
Renault is also likely to continue this with a practical and functional layout inside with the same as always being the case with Duster fan praise. The cabin will feature:
- A dual-screen infotainment and driver info layout
- A three-spoke steering wheel
- Drive selector for enhanced terrain response
- Y-shaped AC vent styling based on the outside theme
Skip a sunroof to keep structural integrity (and temp buyers who’d rather have a $20,000 daily driver be worry-free than outfitted with temperamental features).

Mild-Hybrid Engine Likely for India
The Duster is available with several hybrid power options outside of the states. Nonetheless, the Indian-spec would be equipped with the Mild-Hybrid 130 set-up, which offers approximately 128 bhp. That means better fuel economy and sensible highway and off-road performance from this setup. Based on demand, a 4×4 option may also be offered down the road.

Expected Pricing and Market Positioning

- Hyundai Creta
- Kia Seltos
- Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
- Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
- Upcoming Tata Curvv
The Duster had a loyal customer base thanks to the brand’s legacy as a rugged and reliable brand that builds cars to last.
